Maybe some of the OE manufacturers are intentionally baiting Autel to copy some of their software that might be Bogus?

I have been evaluating a MaxiDiag Elite MD802 recently on various Asian vehicles (Toyota Corolla 1998, Toyota Echo 2005, Honda CRV 2002, Honda Odyssey 2002).  Once I went online and applied all the available updates (44), which in the context of this thread included Honda V2.10 and Toyota V2.40, I was able to properly detect the vehicles and get significant, possibly complete, data captures.

My MD804, in About, shows: firmware version V1.01; sys sw version V4.50; hardware version  V1.00; manufacture date 07/23/2014.

I had to make several tries, over several days, to learn by trial and error, how to refine the initially detected vehicle profile (ie, Area, Model, Model Year, Engine).  I was unable to get a good data/control yield until I had sufficiently refined the communicating vehicle profile.

On the Honda Odyssey 2002, I am left with "unsupported" for On-Board Monitor Test and for Component Test.  I am still investigating whether further refinement of the selected vehicle profile parameters will overcome this.  The same vintage CRV didn't have this problem.  Both the Odyssey and CRV had "looping VIN input" before I updated at the Autel site.

Hope these comments will be helpful, or at least offer encouragement.

Toyota, Lexus and Scion V3.20 updates are available on 02 April 2015 but I did not test this new version on any vehicle. I hope that Autel Engineers removed the previous bugs and made improvements in this version.

    Thanks Autel.

I know that you welcome our feedback to increase your product's performance. I am a software guy and know the fact that when you will write a piece of code and think that it's a piece of cake but it will not become a piece of cake and you will wandering through your code to find the bug. It's my practical experience and there is always room for improvements.

    Good Luck.
